I am responding to your opportunity announcement, which appeared in website.  I would like to apply for the postdoctoral position in Dr. ○○’s Research Group.

I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory of Dr. ○○ in the Department of ○○, ○○, Japan.

I have been working on ○○○○.

During my Ph.D. program and postdoctoral fellowship, we isolated and identified the ○○, and discovered that ○○○○. On the other hand, we found that ○○○○. These findings identify a novel mechanism of ○○○○.

My current employment contract will expire on next March and seriously looking for aposition for my next career.

I am particularly interested in working of Dr. ○○ because I have been working on ○○○○.

My research interest is ○○○○.  I am eager to investigate the involvement and regulation of ○○.  Especially, I would like to reveal the physiological function of ○○.  In the future, I would like to examine the effect of ○○. Your project investigating that underlying molecular mechanisms of ○○ is very interesting to me.

I would like to have a chance to work in your excellent laboratory.  I think that I could bring useful skills to your research group. I would be most grateful if you could let me know whether there is any possibility that I might be able to join your group.

I have extensive experience in toxicology, cell biology, molecular biology, protein biochemistry. I trust that my previous research experience and background knowledge will contribute productively to the on-going research projects in your laboratory and also help in expanding the research area for the future in such a way that your laboratory will take the lead in this field of research. I am a quick-learner and highly motivated in mastering new research areas and techniques.  As I would like to pursue a career in performing excellent research and contributing to the biomedical research and public health, I would be delighted, if you could provide me with the opportunity to work with you in your laboratory.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

I am enclosing my curriculum vitae for your review.

Thank you very much for your consideration, and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
