We want to let you know that we have been notified that a family member of one of our associates has received a confirmed diagnosis of the H1N1 (swine flu) virus. Recently, prior to the diagnosis, that family member had visited our campus and was in several areas of one of the buildings on campus. Both the associate — who has not been diagnosed with H1N1 — and the associate’s family member are at home receiving appropriate medical treatment. We have no reason to believe that any of our associates (or associates at any other campus location) are at any increased risk of contracting the H1N1 virus as a result of this diagnosis.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind all associates of everyday precautionary measures that should be taken to help avoid the spread of contagious illnesses. These include covering your mouth and nose when sneezing, frequently washing your hands with soap and water, and not touching your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands.
Also, if you are feeling ill, you should stay home and not come into work. If you contract and receive a confirmed diagnosis of H1N1, please let your manager and/or local human resources representative know immediately.
